On June 21st, a series of events created a perfect storm that resulted in a blockchain fork: two distinct branches of the candycoin blockchain were created with some wallets preferring one and the rest preferring the other. This loss of synchronization forced us to shutdown the core candycoin network to correct the issue, and a lot of headaches for the developers.
A new release of the wallet (8.5.6) was released on June 24th which we urge everyone to upgrade to as soon as possible. If you already had a wallet installed before, you will need to delete your old blockchain to resynchronize your wallet.
Backup your wallet.dat file someplace safe (this procedure won’t touch it, but it’s best to be safe) and then shutdown your wallet.
Browse to your CandyCoin data folder: this is where you candycoin.conf and wallet.dat files are stored and on Windows is usually located at: %APPDATA%\CandyCoin
In that folder, delete the following files:
(Basically, everything under blocks and chainstate)
The network is once again fully operational. The pool will take a little more work but it should be back online within the next 24 hours.
